Today I am reminded of this scripture in Matthew 6:19. "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust consume and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. "
What is important to you here on earth? What consumes most of your time and attention? What are your pursuits in this earthly realm? What makes you happy? How are you prioritizing your life?
If any of your answer has to do with the pursuit of material possessions, holding on to inanimate objects or to achieve some professional/personal dream or status, these are the "treasures on earth" the Bible speaks about. None of these things will matter when you enter the kingdom of heaven. These earthly things and pursuits will not bring you to heaven nor can you bring these things with you to heaven. These things will either be destroyed, consumed or rot.
Our Heavenly Father cares not for your earthly treasures.
He has Heavenly Treasures he is offering to you today - right now. And he offers to you FREELY and graciously. It is the treasure of God himself, the source and giver of every good things. This treasure provides unspeakable joy and immense blessings. This is your inheritance, will you accept? Will you be reminded of His wonderful Grace (something He gave you that you don't deserve) and Mercy (something He removed that you do deserve).
So what are your Treasures in this life on earth??
Everything you can see, hear and touch today cannot be brought into Heaven. No status, no riches, no egos. These earthly things will perish.
Look at your life and reprioritize.
What can you bring into Heaven?????

“Lord Jesus, you are my everlasting life. May the light of your word and truth free me from the sin and lure of this earth. I freely give you my heart so that you may fill it with your love and from this day forth, I may desire you as my Treasure and my All."
